This week I learnt to dig deep and find resilience. After all, I need to get this cake shop built for you to enjoy!
As a cake maker, I know a thing or two about creating beautiful and delicious masterpieces. But this week it was all plastering and painting, definitely not as fun as buttercream. It has been a hard slog working on the fit out and being a mum and a wife. I have bags under my eyes and my arms hurt from plastering a ceiling.
It also turns out that plaster and paint do not wash off as easily as buttercream and you canβt eat the leftovers. Basically, caking is a better profession all round.
What has been wonderful about this process has been seeing my vision come to life. I designed my cake shop on a little app, called Room Sketcher, a very basic program, and then hand drew the elevations for my DA to council. So, to see my simple cad creation become a reality has actually blown my mind.
Thank you for following me on this journey. Donβt worry the delicious rewards are coming so stick with me!
Stay Sweet,
Sam
