Hey sweet friends,
We’re so excited to announce that The Sugar Kitchen cake shop and cafe is opening soon, and we wanted to give you a sneak peek of the build update. Because believe me, it’s taken months just to get to this point, with council approvals and paying allll the fees (I feel I should make a reel just on this). We’re working hard to create a space for a sweet escape, and we can’t wait to share it with you all.
At the moment, it doesn’t look like much, even though the fit out is in full swing. This stage is all the foundation work that isn’t pretty, but I am excited by any progress! We (i.e. my husband Jack) had to remove the whole drop in paneled ceiling and replace it with plaster to make it up to the new NSW fit out guide standards for food, it was a messy affair. All the new electrical cable has been done. So, it has never been handier to have an electrician as a husband! Coastal plumbing has also started the plumbing works. Yay!
One decorative (and functional) piece did arrive this week. Our beautiful TUSCANY WHITE Sintered Stone bench for the front point of sale from Universal Marble, Woolgoolga. The team were great and cut out the hole for the coffee machine pipes and jug rinser. It’s the only pretty thing in the space right now!
It has been such a juggle doing construction with a 2 and a 4 year old, but I know our hard work will pay off. We’re so excited to open our doors to you soon. Stay tuned for more updates on the build progress, and we’ll see you soon at The Sugar Kitchen.
