This is what is trending for 2024 Australian wedding cakes. I have selected three TSK favourites and based this list on what I have seen trending in the world over. Take a deep dive to inspire your design. Let’s make your wedding cake a WOW factor!
- Vintage Lambeth Cakes: Heart shaped or round cakes, over the top buttercream piping. Cute messages of love. It’s giving 80’s vibes in cake form! Don’t forget the cherries on top-fresh or glazed! I think this trend is here to stay for a while. You can go crazy with the colour palette but stick with either all pastel or all bright or stay traditional with white on white. This will make the red cherries POP! This style is truly gorgeous in cake cutting pictures!

2. Minimalist cakes: These cakes are all about clean lines and simple designs. One textural element usually steals the show. You can even skip the cake flowers (gasp). White on white on white never looked so good! Minimalist cakes are perfect for couples wanting a sleek look to their cake cutting pictures, while still holding on to a traditional white wedding cake! Ask us how TSK can design your cake that’s both elegant and on-trend.

3. Stone finish buttercream: This trend took me by surprise! I created one inspired by a fondant iced cake but switched it up with buttercream per request of the bride and groom. Well, since then I have lost count of how many “stone finish” buttercream wedding cakes (and birthday cakes) I have made. This style is timeless and still has a subtle edgy look. The texture photographs beautifully.
